Serving the website

This static website runs on a VPS provided by IONOS. When you visit, the server processes technical connection data, including your IP address and the requested resource, to deliver the content to your browser. IONOS provides the hosting infrastructure.

The web server does not keep an access log of normal page visits. Technical operational messages are stored in system logs to operate the site and diagnose errors. In the event of server errors, these logs may also contain connection and request data, such as IP addresses, requested URLs and browser information.

The system journal deletes older entries according to storage and file-count limits; no fixed age-based retention period is currently configured. An additional copy of operational messages is rotated weekly, retaining four archive generations and the active file.

The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. My legitimate interest is to provide a reliable and secure website and to detect and resolve technical faults.

Cookies, fonts and images

These pages do not set cookies or include advertising or analytics trackers. Book covers and stylesheets are hosted on the same server; fonts come from your device. No marketplace content is embedded.

Bookshop links

Selecting a shop link takes you to an external website. Each bookshop processes data under its own privacy policy. The links contain no affiliate tags; this website does not send a referrer to the linked shops.

Email contact

If you email me, I process your email address, the message and any other information or attachments you provide to answer your enquiry. IONOS email infrastructure is used to deliver messages to the contact address.

The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR; my legitimate interest is to answer your enquiry. Article 6(1)(b) GDPR applies where processing is necessary to perform a contract or take pre-contractual steps requested by you. General enquiries are retained only as long as needed to handle them and carry out any necessary follow-up. Information is retained beyond that only where required by statutory retention duties (Article 6(1)(c) GDPR) or necessary to establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

Your rights

Subject to the applicable legal requirements, you have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and data portability. Where processing is based on legitimate interests, you may object on grounds relating to your particular situation. To exercise your rights, contact me@oliveralder.de.

You may complain to a data protection supervisory authority, particularly in the EU Member State where you habitually reside, work or where the alleged infringement occurred. You do not need to provide additional information to visit this website; however, the server cannot deliver the page without the necessary technical connection data. Providing information by email is voluntary.
